Facade Improvement Program

The Facade Improvement Program (FIP) encourages City of Logan owners and tenants to enhance their facades and help improve street appeal.

This is part of a strategy to revitalise buildings and streetscapes in eligible areas/selected urban centres.

Council will contribute $2 for every $1 invested by successful applicants up to a maximum of $10,000 to deliver the facade enhancements.

Applications for the Logan Facade Improvement Program Round 2 funding are open between 3 February 2023 and Friday 5 May 2023.

What type of works will be funded?

1. Painting of building facade, windows and awnings

2. Awnings or shade devices

3. External materials or detailing

Eligible Areas

The Facade Improvement Program is open to landowners or tenants (with landowners’ written consent) of business premises within the following areas:

  • Beenleigh Local Plan Area
  • Logan Central Logan Plan Area
  • Meadowbrook Master Plan Area
  • Springwood Local Plan Area

Consideration will also be given to applications that fall outside of these areas, subject to a clear demonstration of how the proposed works positively contribute to Council’s Night Time Economy Strategy.

All applications must relate to a property with a ground floor business that directly adjoins a road or open space and is open to, and trades with, the public.

Assessment Criteria

Each application for funding through FIP will be assessed on the following criteria

High Impact

The project is highly visible and publicly accessible

Connected to place

The project is aligned with Council’s strategic plans and contributes to place revitalisation with good engagement with the street

Value for money

Priority will be given to shopfronts in disrepair and improvements that are sustainable and fit for outdoor use

Local benefit

Quoted items are locally sourced

Applications for the Facade Improvement Program Round 2 open on 3 February 2023 and close Friday 5 May 2023.

Applications are submitted through SmartGrants, which can be accessed on Council’s website.
