From 1 March 2017, eligible developments in parts of the city that Council has targeted for commercial growth will receive new economic incentives to build in Logan.
New hotel developments that achieve a 4 or 5 star rating could seek to have their infrastructure charges deferred.
In addition, new non-residential developments in certain parts of the city could avoid the charges altogether if the development is within an existing building.
These financial incentives are designed to decrease barriers for development and help attract investment in Logan’s commercial centres such as Springwood and Beenleigh.
Hotel developments not only drive jobs growth during construction, but help position the city as a more attractive destination for hosting national and international events and generate opportunities for local suppliers and businesses that will support their operations.
More information about the changes to Council’s infrastructure charges policies are available on Council's Infrastructure Planning & Charging webpage.
