The future is bright for Logan-based market leader

29 September 2017

Market foresight, timing and a well-executed strategy were key for Logan-based business One Stop Warehouse (OSW) becoming the leading national wholesale distributor of solar panel equipment.

With a customer base of well-known global and domestic brands, OSW quickly overtook their biggest competitors and has since maintained market leadership.

OSW recently added the prestigious 2017 Hong Kong Australia Business Association (HKABA) Queensland Business Awards 'Excellence in bilateral trade – Import of Goods' to their list of industry accolades.

Chief Executive Officer Anson Zhang was grateful to be recognised by HKABA, which reaffirms their achievements in the renewable energy sector in just four short years.

Having experienced China’s poor air quality growing up, Anson decided to pursue the solar power business after installing panels in his own home. This led to establishing OSW in 2013 with partners Jeff Yu and Sunny Sun.

Originally based in Perth, OSW made the move to the east coast in the following year, choosing Logan as their new headquarters.

Logan was a strategic choice for the growing business, entering into a lease on a 1700 sqm premises in Logan’s suburb of Berrinba to take advantage of the City’s well-connected transport network and proximity to markets in Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Entering into a joint partnership in 2016 with Chinese energy giant GCL, the biggest solar farm owner in the world, means the likely future of OSW is even greater market dominance.

OSW plans to introduce GCL’s technologies into the Australian market, enter into the competitive energy retailing market and hopes to establish their own solar farms.

Today, the company employs a team of 65 across Australia and generated a revenue of approximately $100 million in 2016, an increase of more than fifty percent from the previous year.
