Regional Skills Adjustment Strategy

The Regional Skills Adjustment Strategy (RSAS) is a $10 million two-year initiative through the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training, delivered by TAFE Queensland.

RSAS will support workers that are at risk of being displaced from traditional industries, as well as providing proactive support to employers to build workforce resilience and to address skills or labour shortages.

The initiative targets specific industry sectors including

  • Resources
  • Manufacturing
  • Infrastructure
  • Agriculture
  • Food Processing

Who is eligible:

  • Existing workers to gain new skills
  • Retrenched workers due to company closures
  • Workers at risk of being displaced from traditional industries

The areas of assistance available:

  • Career planning and other assessments as determined
  • Employability skills
  • Literacy, numeracy & language assistance
  • Digital literacy and vocational skills
  • Accredited and non-accredited training
  • Industry specific training, skill sets
  • Workforce building – new and emerging roles
  • Address skills and labour shortages
