30 April 2019

Queensland Small Business Week 2019

Registrations are now open for over 30 free small business workshops across the City of Logan. Workshops, expos, networking and support sessions are designed to help small businesses start, grow and employ and are delivered by industry professionals, mentors, government agencies and networking groups.

The program is focused on delivering practical information, advice and networking opportunities. It also provides LOED with the opportunity to inform the local business community of the resources, support and tools available from Council and other government departments.

The LOED program of events (PDF 1880 KB) is being delivered in conjunction with:

  • Logan Office of Economic Development
  • Logan City Council Libraries
  • INNOV8 Logan
  • Logan Angels
  • Australian Taxation Office
  • Small Business Queensland
  • Department of Employment Small Business and Training
  • Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning

Headline events for this year include the Logan Business Growth Workshops on 29 May and Logan Business Links on 30 May.

Logan Business Growth Workshops includes 16 workshops from industry professionals, mentors and business coaches. Feedback from QSBW 2018 and from small businesses over the past 12 months have determined the topics delivered at this event - areas where businesses require the most help or have the most interest in have been selected for delivery in these 90 minute workshops. Attendees are welcome to choose up to four workshops to attend during the day, or just attend one. Between workshops light refreshments will be provided as well as the chance for networking.

Logan Business Links connects small businesses to government agencies and local organisations. This will be an expo / trade show style event MC’d by Queensland Small Business Champion Maree Adshead. The format allows small businesses to discover the resources and tools available to them, and provides an opportunity for face-to-face interaction with relevant agencies. There will also be an after-dark networking event between 5pm and 7pm.

Small businesses are the foundation of Queensland cities, towns and communities. Queensland Small Business Week (QSBW) is a state-wide week of events and activities that advocate, enable and empower Queensland’s small business.

QSBW is an opportunity for business owners and those thinking of starting a business to connect with business leaders and hear about initiatives that will help them achieve success, grow and overcome difficulties.

Queensland Small Business Week 2019 runs from Monday 27 May to Friday 31 May. For a full list of events and to register, visit loed.com.au/sbw.
